the thing about autumn is it is so seductive. The fruits ripe on the vine, the yellowy light, the clear blue skies. Until you get a patch or shade or are caught out on a breezy day with too light a jacket. Then the whirling leaves reminds me that another long winter stretches ahead.
Still the good thing about winters in London is the gusto with which the locals get into "party season" (more of that to follow). And we will soon have guy fawkes, mulled wine and feather duvets to look forward to. So hail autumn: new boots, getting cosy and a change of season.
